California State University – Northridge (CSUN) is a public university in the Northridge neighborhood of Los Angeles, California. CSUN is one of the 23 campuses in the California State University System. This school is the third largest university in the state of California by enrollment numbers, behind Cal State Fullerton and UCLA. CSUN was founded as the Valley satellite campus of Cal State Los Angeles and then became an independent college in 1958 as San Fernando Valley State College. Bachelor of Arts in Psychology
The Bachelor of Arts in Psychology Program at CSUN gives students a chance to study with excellent psychology faculty and learn from a strong, broad-based psychology curriculum. The program provides an opportunity for students who:

California State University – Sacramento (Sacramento State), was founded in 1947 as Sacramento State College. It is a public comprehensive and the 11th oldest school in the 23-campus California State University system. Bachelor of Arts in Psychology

Bachelor of Arts in Biopsychology
In additional to the Bachelor’s Degree in psychology, the Bachelor of Arts in Biopsychology program covers the basic tenets of a neuroscience program. Courses offered by the biopsychology and psychology department range include courses such as:

Bachelor of Arts in Human Development – Child Track
The Human Development Degree offers specialization in three separate areas of study. The Child Development track was created to prepare students for professions that involve young children and their families. This track provides a solid framework in childhood growth and development. It can lead to a Child Development Site Supervisor Permit issued by the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing. Students enrolled in this track can choose to focus their applied coursework on children age two through eight or infants and toddlers.
Bachelor of Arts in Human Development – Lifespan Track
The Lifespan Track is for students who wish to obtain a broad interdisciplinary background of human development across the lifespan. This track is geared towards students who plan to work with children and families at various developmental periods. The curriculum in this track focuses on developmental periods, applications, and testing and assessment across the lifespan.
Bachelor of Arts in Human Development – School Age Track
The School Age Track is for students planning to pursue a career working with school age children. This track is ideal for students seeking a teaching position in an elementary school setting. Students in this program will complete a set of courses designed to prepare them for taking the The California Subject Examinations for Teachers (CSET). This is a national examination that all future teachers must complete. Students also gain a strong background in human growth and development. Upon graduation, students should have a broad-based education with an emphasis in child development and its many applications.
Bachelor of Arts in Psychology
The objective of the Bachelor of Arts in Psychology Program is to provide students with the scientific and professional underpinnings of psychology. Psychology majors will apply the knowledge and skills provided by a broad psychology background to many diverse employment opportunities which do not require graduate training. The curriculum also prepares students for Master of Arts or Master of Science training in Psychology. Students planning to pursue graduate school will find the undergraduate Psychology program provides an excellent framework for entry into graduate training.
Dual Major – Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Human Development

The Department of Psychology and Child Development
California State University – Stanislaus, (CSUS) is a campus in the 23-school California State University system. It was established in 1957 in Turlock, California. It is the only campus in the CSU system to offer a Bachelor’s Degree in Cognitive Studies. The College of Science is one of the newest and most innovative colleges on campus. Bachelor of Arts in Child Development
This program is offered in either a traditional four year program or a Fast Track for students with Associate’s of Applied Science or Associated of Science in Child Development. Bachelor of Arts in Psychology
The CSU Stanislaus Psychology program strives to provide a balanced curriculum. It exposes students to the theoretical perspectives used by psychologists. It teaches them to approach problems in human behavior from a scientific perspective. It provides the skills for those who plan careers requiring an understanding of people and the ability to analyze behavior problems. It also prepares students who intend to pursue graduate study in Psychology at the master’s or doctoral level.
The undergraduate Psychology program has a strong research emphasis. Students complete a lower-division course in Psychological Methods and an upper-division class in Experimental Methods and Design. Upper division research seminars provide students with hands-on experience in psychological research. The seminars build an understanding of how psychologists use empirical methods to answer questions about human behavior.
